I NEED ADVICE ABOUT DATING AS A CHRISTIAN GIRL
Have you met a good looking guy you feel attracted to and you need advice on what to do and how to go about dating? Or do you just need advice or tips on Christian dating just in case you meet someone? You are at the right place.
Dating for an unbeliever is just something they do once they are attracted to the opposite sex. But as a believer, there are some things you need to consider before you can date.
So here are some advice/tips for you
Do Not Date an Unbeliever
This is the first thing to consider as a Christian. The bible tells us not to be equally yolk with unbelievers (1 Corinthians 6:14-15). Dating someone who doesn’t have a relationship with God is risky. It is risky for your future and your spiritual life.
As a born-again Christian, you are a new creature and you are spiritually minded not carnally minded. So the way he thinks will be different from the way you think, and the things he think is right is will be wrong to you and vice-versa. So it is risky for you, just like playing with fire.
Just the way light doesn’t have a relationship with darkness, you shouldn’t have a relationship with an unbeliever. Find someone who have passion for God and His word, someone that can help you move close to God, someone you can pray with.
If you are already dating or feeling attracted to an unbeliever, try to introduce the person to Jesus and pray for him. But if it’s not working out, its better you let go. Don’t continue to date thinking sooner or later, the person will change. It doesn’t work like that. You can’t change anybody, only God can. So marry someone who knows and loves Jesus.
Ask God to Direct Your Path
When God leads your path and you follow, you won’t miss your way or get into the wrong hands. So commit your way into the Lord in prayer, lean not unto your own understanding and he will direct your way. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Listen to the Holy Spirit
God gave us Holy Spirit to direct us so that we won’t go astray. So do not ignore the voice of the Holy Spirit. Remember, not all that glitters are gold. Proverbs 14:12.
Also, if the Holy Spirit convicts you of certain things you are doing in your relationship, then you need to stop doing them.
Set Healthy and Godly Limits
You and your partner should set some healthy limits. Setting healthy limits reflects maturity. So take your time to clarify your communication style, talk about commitment and what you want, and be clear on physical intimacy.
Your Body Is The Temple Of God.
God tells us to do away with sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) and present our bodies as a living sacrifice to Him (Romans 12:1-2).
Remember your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit dwells inside you, so do away with things that can irritate the Holy Spirit. Be obedient to G0d’s word. Put obedience over passion and put obedience over your physical drive. Discipline yourself and abstain from doing things that doesn’t promote holiness.
God bless you!
