GALATIANS 5:22-23 THE FRUITS OF SPIRIT
When a person accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and abides in the word of God, he will receive the Holy Spirit. When we become Christ’s own people, we will hate the passions of the flesh and will live in the spirit of God (Galatians 5:24,25).
When the spirit of God dwells within a person, his characteristics will change and he will get the godly characteristics (2 Corinthians 5:17). He will always possess those characteristics apart from his circumstances.
Jesus Christ is the true vine. We are the branches attached to Him when we accepted Him as our Savior. If we abide in Him, we will bear good fruits for Him (John 15:5). If we do according to the word of God, we will bear the fruit of the spirit as we get the strength from Christ who is the tree.
When we have the fruit of the spirit we will be reflecting those characteristics among other people. Those who see the fruit within us will come to the true vine and will accept Him to be their Savior.
Love is eternal and nothing is comparable with love. The love of a man is always temporary and changes with the situation. But the love of God is always unchanging.
As the Father had love for mankind, He sent His only begotten Son to the earth to save people from their slavery under sin (John 3:16). He doesn’t want anyone to perish in the hellfire.
We cannot measure the width, length, depth, and height of His love (Ephesians 3:18). His love won’t change with circumstances. We should also be filled with the love He has shown us. We should love our neighbors as He loved us (1 John 4:19,21).
If we have true love which is the fruit of the spirit we won’t be arrogant. We will rejoice when someone else is blessed. We accept each other without any discrimination.
People with God’s love won’t remember past mistakes (1 Peter 4:8). They look forward to bring glorious blessings. The godly love within us will stir up our hearts to bring people to the love of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:14).
When we receive Jesus Christ into our hearts, He fills us with heavenly joy that no one can snatch it from us (John 16:22). There may be situations that we have to go through persecution for the sake of the kingdom of God.
We won’t be murmuring against God, rather we will be filled with joy in Christ for being considered to be persecuted for Him (Acts 5:41). When people slander against us, we should accept it joyfully because we will have the reward for being suffered without reason in heaven.
People who have the fruit of spirit joy won’t consider the present scenario. Instead, they will thank God with gladness for their sufferings with the vision for their joyful eternity (1 Peter 4:13).
Those who have the spirit of God won’t worry for anything because they know that their God will take care of their needs without fail (Matthew 6:30-32). So they will always be glad in Christ as they bring all their needs through prayers and supplications before God with Thanksgiving (Philippians 4:4,6).
People with great wealth don’t have peace in their heart while those who are filled with the Holy Spirit will have the heavenly peace as they carry all their worries to God through prayers. Then they will be filled with the peace of God that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6,7).
People who received the peace that Jesus gave them won’t get troubled when they face problems. They will be peaceful and have no fear of failure as the peace they have is not like the peace given by the world (John 14:27).
Those who correct their ways according to God’s word to please God will have peace with their neighbors as they love their neighbors and keep no record of their mistakes (Proverbs 16:7). They consider relationships more than their arrogance and ego.
God with all His long-suffering bore all our sins and had grace upon us. This we are not destroyed yet. Those who received the grace of God while they were sinners will have long-suffering for those who do evil against them. They forgive them again and again and bless them when their enemies curse them (Romans 12:14).
Long-suffering will build our spiritual life and bring us more and more closer to God. Those who have the spirit of God will wait for God so that they can be filled with the strength of God (Isaiah 40:31). They won’t do evil for evil as they wait for God to fight for them (Luke 18:7,8). They will have their Justice at the right time.
Kindness in heart help us understand the sufferings of other people and help them in their needs. People who have kindness for those who doesn’t have food, shelter and clothes will sacrifice their desires so that they could bring happiness in someone else’s life.
As Jesus had compassion for us and came to save us, we should be kind to others. God will be kind to those who are kind to others (Psalms 18:25). They help the needy people without expecting anything in return.
We should be filled with the spirit of God and reflect His characters. It will bring people to God. When someone receive the word of God with all readiness will have goodness.
People won’t listen to our words but they listen to our lives. If our lives spread goodness among them they will come to God through us (1 Peter 3:2). Our goodness speaks more than our words to the people (Romans 15:14).
People who have the spirit of God will be faithful in everything they do. They won’t do anything for satisfying a man. Rather they do everything with the insight that God is looking at every walks of their lives.
God puts those who are faithful in small things in His ministry(1 Timothy 1:12). They will be faithful in fulfilling their promises even though they have to face loss (Psalm 15:4).
Gentleness in a person will make them face every situation gently and they will inherit the earth. Even when someone come to fight with them they will be calm as they will not be controlled by the flesh.
As they are controlled by the Spirit of God, they face those problems as if God is holding their hands and is going in front of them. When a person teaches the word of God with gentleness, it brings spiritual restoration for those who are controlled by sin (Galatians 6:1).
As getting the crown of life will be the aim of those who are filled by the Spirit of God, they won’t look for worldly blessings (1 Corinthians 9:25). They won’t run after the worldly treasures and wealth (Matthew 6:19-21).
People with this fruit of spirit will be content with what they have and praise God. Even if they don’t have their needs, they will praise God. With the strength of God, they could live in any situation (Philippians 4:11-13).
They will not be controlled by the desires of the flesh and so they will have self-control in everything. They protect their bodies holy as it is the temple of God (Romans 13:14). They knew the purpose of their lives. They run forward towards Christ neglecting all those temporary pleasures to get Eternal life (1 Timothy 6:6-12).
