A children’s sermon is a brief time during the adult worship service that presents a short lesson for kids. The sermon often has an object lesson that shares a scripture of theme from the Bible. The one presenting the sermon often invites the children to come to the front of the church, gathering for a short period of time that is specifically for them. Questions for the children will be asked for them to answer. When the brief message is finished, the children either return to their seats, or are dismissed to Sunday school classes. Each church may have different schedules for when this part of the service takes place.
Sometimes churches call this part of the service something different, such as a ministry moment, or children’s message.
