We have been blessed so tremendously by God that sometimes it becomes somewhat difficult to count His blessings in our lives. From so many things to give thanks for is our salvation, His love, His mercy, provision, preservation.
God so good to us, we can not totally pay Him back for all that He has given to us. There is one instruction that allows us to, in a way, show our appreciation to God for His blessings, our tithes and offerings.
In Malachi 3:10, we were instructed by God to bring our tithes to Him because He has need of them.
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
It is not everytime we get to do things for God because most of the time He’s the one doing things for us. But here in Malachi 3:10, we are asked to give our tithes to God.
What is Tithe? Tithes are simply 10% or a tenth of our income. Whether our farm produce as seen in the Old Testament or even your earnings. Tithes are given to God to thank him for a friutful harvest, for financial provisions and for increase financially.
Tithing simply means to give tithes, to tithe or give ten percent of all you have earned in a week or a month to God.
If you read further down Malachi 3:10, we see how God, despite asking us to give our tithes to Him, still promises to do something we will not be able to so for ourselves, for us.
Malachi 3:11 – 12
”And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts”.
God has promised to increase us if only we can share just a tenth of what we have. He also promised to take away things that can cause a decrease in our financial lives, to remove the locusts, palmerworms and cankerworms.
Locusts, palmerworms, cankerworms are insects that destroy harvests. They go to fields and destroy all that the farmer has worked for. God is saying He will destroy anything that wants to ruin all that we have laboured for.
A man who psys his tithes is a man who knows how to invoke God’s blessings in his financial life.
Contrary to what many believe, tithing is not a way of enriching the pastors, but a way of causing God to bless you by giving him just little out of the abundance He has given you.
Do you want to experience a great turnaround in your financial life? Resolve to be a faithful tither and watch things turn in your favour.
