Jesus Rises from Death
The day after the Sabbath day was the first day of the week. At dawn on the first day, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary went to look at the tomb.
At that time there was a strong earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven. The angel went to the tomb and rolled the stone away from the entrance. Then he sat on the stone.
He was shining as bright as lightning. His clothes were white as snow.
The soldiers guarding the tomb were very frightened of the angel. They shook with fear and then became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus, the one who was killed on the cross.
But he is not here. He has risen from death as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was.
And go quickly and tell his followers. Say to them: ‘Jesus has risen from death. He is going into Galilee. He will be there before you. You will see him there.’” Then the angel said, “Now I have told you.”
The women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but they were also very happy. They ran to tell Jesus’ followers what had happened.
Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings.” The women came up to Jesus, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.
Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go on to Galilee. They will see me there.”

We will hear the most exciting mystery story ever told today. I call it ‘The Empty Tomb Case.’
We’re going to hear the most thrilling story of mystery ever told today. ‘
From the Grave Up
Some of Jesus’ friends arrived at the tomb early in the morning, carrying the sweet spices to anoint his body. They wondered how they would get that big stone away from the door of the tomb. But they realized, when they got to the crypt, that the stone had rolled backward. Heaven had sent an angel to roll the stone backward. The friends walked into the graveyard and saw a man dressed in white. They were afraid, but he told them not to get scared. He said that Jesus did not exist, but that he had risen from the dead and that he was alive. We know that the disciples were happy to hear that Jesus was alive and would be with them again. He said, “Go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going to Galilee before you: you will see him there.”
Jesus Seen Again
During the first day of the week, the story begins very early in the morning. Jesus had just been crucified and buried. One of the followers of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, went to the tomb where Jesus was buried. She saw that when she got there the stone was rolled away from the door. And she ran, and found Peter and John, and said unto them, They have taken the body of the Lord out of the sepulchre, and I know not where they have laid him.
Peter and John were heading to the tomb. First, John got there. He looked into the tomb, and there he saw the linen wrappings. Peter arrived then and went inside. He noticed the clothes John had seen lying there, too. He saw that Jesus’ head-covering cloth was also folded and lying apart from the other wrappings when he further investigated. John joined him inside, after Peter looked around for a few minutes. They left and went home when they were certain that the tomb was empty.
Mary was weeping outside the tomb. She looked inside the tomb as she wept and saw two angels lying there. One of them was seated at the head and the other at the foot where the body of Jesus was lying. “Why are you crying?” asked the angels.
“Because they took my Lord and I don’t know where they have put him,
Then, when she saw someone standing there, Mary turned and was about to leave. It was Jesus, but he was not remembered by her. ‘Girl, why are you crying?’ she was asked by Jesus.
“If you have taken my master away, tell me where he is so that I can go to him.”Sir, if you have taken away my master, tell me where he is, so I can come to him.
“Mary!” said Jesus.
Mary knew who he was when Jesus said her name. Turning to him, she screamed, “Teacher!”Later that day, two men were walking along the road on their way to a village called Emmaus. As they talked together about the death of Jesus, he drew close and went with them. But to them, Jesus was not known. He then asked them what they were going to say and why they were so sad. The men were asking him if the stuff that had happened had not been heard. “Said Jesus, “What sort of thing?
Then the two men told him all about it that the evil men had put Jesus to death, and he was laid in a grave. Some have now learned that he is no longer in the grave. So Jesus explained to them many things they had not known about the Bible and about himself.
Later, he took bread, gave thanks again, and gave some to them as they sat down to eat with him. Then these men realized that he was Jesus. He vanished from their sight.
Jesus also revealed himself several times to a number of people and his followers. Then one day, as several people stood there listening to what Jesus said, He started to rise into the sky. He was soon concealed from their view by a cloud. As they stood there and watched Him vanish from their sight, two men in white clothing told them, why do you stand looking up to Heaven?
We believe that for those who love Him and are searching for Him, Jesus is coming back soon. If we are willing, he will take us to be with Him forever in Heaven.
